Legally listen to the new TV on the Radio record

I know most of you out there have already illegally download TV on the Radio's major label debut Return to Cookie Mountain, but for those of us who have waited patiently, our opportunity has arrived. NME, the UK's answer to Billboard (or something), is streaming the album in its entirety as we speak. Follow the link below for electronic bliss.

Sleater-Kinney on "indefinite hiatus", last show Aug. 11th

While I was away, indie rock's most prolific girl group went and called it quits on me. Sleater-Kinney, Oregon's least wood-related export, posted a note on the Sub Pop website last Tuesday, indicating that they were going on an "indefinite hiatus" -- and we're not talking about the five-years-from-now-Maynard-James-Keenan-kind, this is the real deal.

Just yesterday the world learned that their last show will be at the Roseland Ballroom in Portland on August 11th, after earlier reports indicated that their August 4th stop at Lollapalooza would be the band's final outing. I was hoping for a final tour a la Cher, but alas, if you really care, you better go get a fuckin' plane ticket ASAP.

I'm not one for eulogies, so for now, you can listen to three of the band's most well-known compositions. Enjoy!

Sleater-Kinney - "Oh!"
Sleater-Kinney - "You're No Rock 'n Roll Fun"
Sleater-Kinney - "Entertain"
